It is imperative that this resting place is non-denominational. One hundred niches are created for all different nationalities, religions, and ways of life. The one common thread they share is their life on earth and their memory hereafter. The Curtain opposite the columbarium wall is made up of plates that relate directly to each niche across the space. As an urn is entombed, a plate of glass-mounted hydrogenous polyurethane is attached. This 1½ “ resin is cast to a texture to emulate the cell structure of flesh. This plate signifies the body as it slowly erodes due to the stresses of wind, rain, and heat. At the beginning, the light in the space is intensely fragmented as it glows through the textured plate, and as time wears at the resin the light grows clearer and brighter signifying the growth of the spirit and memory of its owner.
